Update's!!

Wow, I can't believe it's been two months since I've blogged. Crazy how fast time flies. Hmmm, let's see what has been going on. Well, school is crazy and consumes my life but I'm getting very good grades and everyday is a confirmation that I really do want to be a nurse. Thank goodness! I was actually able to have an OR (operating room) observation this week and it was amazing. I saw a gallbladder removal, and once it was out held it in my hands and got to play with it. Our bodies are incredible. The nurse anesthetist also let me pull the endotracheal stethoscope out of the patients throat! It was by far the coolest day of nursing school yet. Hooray for the OR, loved it!

I went home to AZ last week for a visit to see Jodi Alexander (formally Hudson) and her brand new baby boy Brady. Jodi and Shaun had a credit for a free plane ticket and used it to fly me home so I could see my family and the new baby. I was so thankful for their kindness, they are two of the nicest people I have ever known. Genuinely sweet and gracious Jodi, I love you! The baby is absolutely perfect. Such a little stud, with a full head of dark brown hair already in a mohawk! Jodi is such a trooper, she had a very difficult labor but she is healthy and so is Brady, so all is good. It was so nice to see my family and a few of my best friends. I stayed with my sisters at their new house which is adorable by the way. We had fun going out to eat, shopping and watching TV (something I NEVER do at home in KY, in fact we don't even have our TV hooked up, welcome to the crazy busy life of Joshuah and Bonnie!). I also got to see Angela Hughes (formally Gutierrez) and her brand new house since she had just moved back from Yuma. I miss my BFF! AND to top it all off Alerie and Makenzie came into town so I was able to see them again too! All in all, it was a fun and exhausting trip. I was sad to leave because I won't be back until I move back in May 2009, but that's ok. I have my wonderful husband here to keep me entertained and nursing school to keep me occupied. The next 7 months will fly by.

Ok so for all those who don't know Joshuah, here's a little info. He went to Highland High School and we've known each other since we were 15. We met at church where we became really good friends. He left for the Air Force a month after graduation and we kept in really good touch. Well, that friendship turned into love. We both realized that we had loved each other all along and couldn't live without one another. We were married in the church we met in on May 25th, 2006. we moved to Kentucky 3 days after the wedding (yikes!). It was scary to leave everyone and everything I've always known behind but Josh is worth it. I'd move to Timbuktu for that boy! We bought a house here in August 2006, it is small but perfect for the two of us (I'll post pictures soon, promise!). We actually wish we could pick it up and move it back to AZ, just plop it down in Gilbert somewhere (with our same mortgage payment, ha ha--the cost of living out here is cheap!). He was deployed to Iraq for about 7 months from the end of 07' to May of 08', he served his country well and came back to me safely. Thank heaven. He is such an incredible person. He's so determined, in fact, I've never known anyone else as determined as him. If he says he's going to do something, he does and he does it 110%. He never complains, never. He is smart and kind, and makes me feel loved every single day. Also, he is just down right hilarious. Almost as funny as me! (he he). I'm just really grateful and blessed to have him in my life. I know that God made us for each other, he is my perfect match in every way. Ok, ok I know you're probably sick of all this love talk. Josh is currently taking his EMT basic class on base here at Ft. Campbell and he really likes it. He takes on line classes through the University of Phoenix too and works part time at a sporting good store in out town. All this on top of the fact that he is still in the Air Force AND he trains everyday with the special forces army group in combatives or Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He is really stinkin' good at it too! He competes in tournaments and has fights in the "octagon" from time to time. He just took 2nd in the 170lb weight class at the All-Army Tournament. This is an annual tournament where guys come from all over the world to compete. there were about 80 guys in his weight class, so he did awesome to be in the final match. of course, he hates accepting less than perfection when it comes to MMA and he was disappointed to get 2nd, but I was so proud of him. He works very hard to be good at what he does. Go Josh! I'll try to post a video from the tournament on here too.

OH! I know what else! We got a kitten! She is so cute and sweet and crazy. She has two modes, super crazy kitten or super cuddly kitten. We got her from a friend who didn't want her anymore, and I couldn't stand to see her go to the pound so she has a home with us now. We named her Pepper for two reasons. She is dark charcoal in color (with yellow eyes) so she kind of looks like pepper and our house is on Pepper Court. We thought it would be cute to name her after the first street we ever lived on and it just worked out that she looks like pepper too! Her and our dog Macie (a Siberian Husky) are getting along good, they weren't sure about each other for a while there but now they play and touch noses. They are warming up to each other. Again, I'll post some pictures of her soon (truth is, I'm computer illiterate and Joshuah is not home to help me figure it out right now!).

Well, I think that's it for the updates. Sorry this is so long, but that's what happens when you don't blog for two months! I'll try to put pics up soon, I promise! Take care everyone!
